"The greatest spiritual leaders in history have all preached love for others as the basis for all happiness, and never did they accompany such mandates with a list of unlovable actions or deeds. They never said, love everybody except for the gays. Love everybody except for the homeless. Love everybody except for the drug users. Love everybody except for the gang members, or those covered in ink, or the spouse abusers. They didn’t tell us it was okay to love everybody with the exception of the “trailer trash,” those living in poverty, or the illegal immigrants. They didn’t tell us it was okay to love everybody except for our ex-lovers, our lovers’ ex lovers, or our ex-lovers’ lovers. The mandate was pretty.. clear, wasn’t it? Love others. Period."
- Dan Pearce, "I'm Christian, Unless You're Gay"
Today I read an article, a great article that I think everyone should read.
It's controversial, it's probably sparked some debate, it's straight forward.
I loved it.
As most of you know, I am Christian and I believe that my religion is what has made me who I am today and my religion is a huge part of what makes me strive to be a better person each day.
But this article isn't about religion.
"It’s about something else altogether. Something greater. Something simpler.
It’s about love.
It’s about kindness.
It’s about friendship"
Please go here and read it. You will be glad you did.

Update: Someone told me they couldn't click on the link.  Here's the whole URL if that's the case for you:

So much in life depends on our attitude. The way we choose to see things and respond to others makes all the difference. To do the best we can and then to choose to be happy about our circumstances, whatever they may be, can bring peace and contentment.

- Thomas S. Monson
I just read the perfect thing to motivate me as I start this new year.
I have a lot of things I want to work on and it was just what I needed
and I truly think I was inspired to find it.
I would definitely recommend reading it.  Click here.
Happy Friday!

Reminder of Kindness Link

Have you read this story yet?
If you haven't, you should.
Go head and go. Now. Read it.
It's a wonderful reminder of how we all should be.
Not just this Holiday season, but always.

I hope you're all having a fantastic December so far.
We have family trickling in from out of town and I love it.
I get giddy just thinking about it.
Holy cow, I love my family.

Here are some pics from a day in the snow...

Mason LOVES throwing snowballs. Can you see the excitement in his face?

I shared this previously...

Happy Monday!

Be gentle...

I have some "40 Dishes in 40 Days" posts to do but for now I want to share with you a beautiful post that I recently read.
It really made me think.
We often jump to conclusions about a person when we have no idea what they could be going through.
We all have our battles we fight that nobody else knows about.
Sometimes I wish that I could wear a sign saying, "I'm having a hard time, please be gentle with me."

Everyone needs a sign like this at one point or another.
We should keep that in mind when somebody is quiet or mean or just behaving differently than they normally would.
Maybe they need a little extra love today.

Mila's Daydreams

This woman is inspiring and extremely creative.
While her daughter is napping, she creates a fun world around her and snaps some pictures.
I received a forward in my e-mail with her images and I was in awe.
See for yourself...

Aren't they great?!
Happy Wednesday!

If I ever have a little girl, I will attempt to make this dress.. or one similar to it.
I think it's breathtaking.

Light Up The Sky

I apologize for my absence.
We have had a month full of moving, surgery, holidays, sick children and visiting family
and I really haven't had any time to post.  As a matter of fact, this is really the first time in a while that I have sat down to the computer.
Until I can find a little more time.. watch this music video.
It made me cry today.
Don't forget to pause my blog music down at the bottom of the page first.

I discovered this music video over on Flower Patch Farmgirl's blog.

"What I Am"

This is the best.  Seriously, the best.

I fell in love with this song when my friend Rachel posted it on her blog.
Isn't it great?
