Rare

Jimmy is our feisty one.
Which is a good thing, I believe it's his stubborn/feisty-ness that got him though his first year of life.
But this...
basically never happens.
But on those very rare occasions that it does happen..
I love it.. so much that it makes me feel even more content and happy to be just where I am.

When You're in a Bind

Warning: This post will be one of many that will give you a little insight on how weird I am.
Don't judge.
. . .

I like eyeliner.
Even if I have very little time to get ready, I like to have eyeliner and mascara on.
But, if you're like me you never remember to buy a new thing of eyeliner until after you have run out of it.  When I'm in this kind of bind I do something a little silly.. this silly thing works for me and when done right, it works really well.

When I am all out of eyeliner I just grab a bobby pin and touch it to the tip of my mascara brush, right where it's goopy.  I then rub it on and it works like liquid eyeliner.  You will most likely have to re-dip, depending on the amount of eyeliner you like to use.
Important note:  You need to use a bobby pin that still has the soft round things around the ends.. you wouldn't want to scratch your little eyelids.

p.s.. Maybelline Great Lash BIG is my favorite mascara at the moment.

Project- Jewelry Holder

A while ago I posted on my old blog about the jewelry holder I made to help me organize my tangled jewelry piles.
I'm posting it here in order to keep my projects together in one place.

I bought a cheap frame and fabric and found some wire at a local farming store.
I used wire cutters to cut the wire sheet (not sure the actual name of the stuff) to fit into the frame
then stapled the fabric into the back.
After making the large one I decided to make a few to sell/give as gifts.

For this one I painted the wire to match the background fabric.
I also painted little curtain hooks (not in picture) to attach to the wire so I could necklaces and bracelets on the hooks.

For these I didn't paint the wire and I used tiny nails instead of staples to attach the fabric to the back of the frame.

DIY Play Kitchen

My boys are always getting into pots, pans, spatulas and everything else they can get their hands on in the kitchen.  I think it's their effort to "help."
So, for Christmas I decided that I would build them a kitchen of their own.
Luckily my sister had a piece of furniture that was perfect for the job.
After several trips to Lowe's and Home Depot and with some help from my Papa and Davey, here it is, my little kitchen..

(sorry I don't have a "before" picture)

The magnet containers on the left side and the pots, pans, strainer, cutting board and the utensils at the top are all from IKEA. I love IKEA.

Below is the fridge.  Most of the food is from IKEA as well.  Did I mention how much I love IKEA?
The huge peppers are a little out of place but my boys LOVE them, so they will stay.

I really wanted an oven for this little kitchen so we changed the hinges, cut out a window, added some plexiglass and there you have it, an oven.
The stove burners are coasters, spray painted black.

For the wall behind the shelves I bought some textured wallpaper and painted it turquoise.

We cut holes for the faucet and sink.
I've had several people ask me if water runs from that faucet..
Seriously? No. It doesn't run.  I would have to be a crazy person to willingly build a kitchen with plumbing and running water for 2 itty bitty children.

Don't you kinda want to cook in this kitchen?  I do.

Nap Time

The boys' nap time at our house is sacred.
We all need it.
But today Mason didn't want to nap. He didn't want to at all.
I left him to fall asleep in his bed.
He was in there for a while.
He talked to himself, sang songs, yelled,
and when I came back in this is what I found.

He had thrown all of his bedding and animals onto the floor.

And put his pants on his head.

Little stinker.

Family Photography Session-Hoopes Family

Meet the Hoopes.
Man, it was COLD outside when we did this session.
Even so, their family did amazing.
They are adorable.

Isn't her hair absolutely fabulous?!

I think he may be one of the cutest babies I have ever done a session with.
And he has more hair than both of my boys. combined.

Struttin' her stuff.

Family Session-Hanks Family

Ok.. get ready for a picture overload.
This is my brother and his little family.
I couldn't decide which pictures to post so there are a lot.
I may be partial.

This picture is my favorite.
Oh goodness. His facial expression makes me laugh every time.
